![]() ![]() The Lackeys themselves seem like pretty good cards, so hopefully some better stated Lackey producing cards are released. At a 1/5 stat line, this card is really bad in terms of tempo. It is a three mana Rogue card that when combo’d adds two Lackeys to your hand. The one card that we’ve seen so far that generates Lackeys is EVIL miscreant. Getting a Goblin Lackey or Witchy Lackey could be bad in instances where you don’t have anything on board since they only interact with friendly minions. The only way we’ve seen Lackeys being produced is by random, so the RNG element is high. One of the Lackeys discovers a spell, which is very versatile within itself.ĭepending on the situation, some Lackeys will be much better than others. They provide value not within the cards themselves but usually by aiding the board state in some way. Lackeys are new token minions that will generated off of other cards in the set. This is a mediocre card, but the implications of Twinspell leaves us wondering if anything super powerful will be printed. It’s an eight mana spell that summons five 2/2 treants, then adds another copy of itself to the hand after being played. The one Twinspell card that was revealed was The Forest’s Aid. Twinspell means that you have to sacrifice nothing for the additional copy of the spell. However, this occurs at the sacrifice of a card slot, since 30 cards is not a lot to fit into a deck. Priests use them to discover additional copies of spells over the deck limit. This is why cards like Shadow Visions are popular. Often times, there are meta cards that would be good enough that players would desire to have more than two of them in your deck. This is very interesting because essentially what it means is that you can have more than two copies of a card in your deck. What Twinspell means is that after casting a spell, another copy of the card will be placed in the hand for immediate or later use. Of the few revealed cards, one of the new Keywords is Twinspell. All of these card types are additions that seem to increase the overall power level of cards in Hearthstone. The first set of the Year of the Dragon will add Twinspell, Lackeys, and Schemes. ![]() and bringing their most powerful abilities.The Rise of Shadows Announcement Trailer keyed us in on some new Hearthstone mechanics. It’s thematically appropriate, considering that the villains we’ve bested from the past are coming back. Scheme cards are spells that start weak, but the longer you hold them in your hand, the stronger they grow.įinally, Rise of Shadows will use mechanics and keywords from past expansions, helping to create a more unified - and potentially deadly - set of meta cards. We’ll also be getting a mechanic called schemes. They’re weak, with 1/1 stats, but they have powerful battlecries to disrupt the field. You can’t put these five lackeys (one for each villain in the trailer) in your deck, but you can play them in the battlefield once they’ve been created by another Rise of Shadows card. The new expansion will also have lackeys, cards which are generated by other Rise of Shadows cards. Unlike Echo, you can hold onto your Twinspell for a later turn. Upon casting a spell with Twinspell, you get a copy of that spell in your hand, allowing you to cast the same ability twice. There are two new mechanics that will exist on cards in the Rise of Shadows expansion. Rise of Shadows will also introduce a host of new cards (135 of them), including legendary takes on lore characters like Kalecgos and Chef Nomi. The League of EVIL brings back a cast of villains from Hearthstone’s past, including Dr. This time, it means that we take the role of a bunch of Warcraft baddies and siege Dalaran, the magical floating city that serves as a base of operations for the world’s benevolent mages. Sometimes, this means all of our favorite heroes die and come back as Death Knights or we get to revisit an in-game zone with a new twist.
